Thursday August 19th - Heil Valley Ranch

This Thursday, August 19th, we are trying Heil Ranch Trail (front side) again since we were rained out last time. Meet at the main Heil Valley Ranch Trail Head. From there we’ll break into groups based on skill/motivation. Heil is an intermediate trail that is rocky and climbs gradually up to a loop.

Be at the trail head at 5:45PM, and be ready to ride at 6PM. If you would like to carpool, meet at 28th and Iris – SE corner next to Sol Azteca at 5:15 p.m.

Dinner and drinks will follow at Mad Greens at 29th Street.

Be sure to check the blog at 3:00 p.m if there are weather issues.

Important Info about the Rides:

  1. All riders MUST wear a helmet, bring water, and have a trail-ready bike.
  2. Riders should also carry the usual basics: spare tube(s), a pump, tire levers, a chain tool, and basic Allen wrenches.
  3. All riders ride at their own risk, group leaders take no responsibility for rider safety/injury.
  4. Riders must sign a
liability waiver once during the season. If this is your first ride of the season, please bring a signed waiver with you or be prepared to complete one at the meeting spot.
  • Rides launch at 6:00 PM so be at the trail head by 5:45 PM, dressed and ready to roll by 6 PM.
  • If the weather is iffy, make sure to check the blog after 3:00 PM on Thursdays for updated info.
  • Please don't be shy about coming out - all of us love biking and would like to hang out with girls that are interested in biking.
  • For planning purposes, please post your name in the comment section if you plan to join us. The comment section is also great for planning carpools, etc. If you cannot access the blog post, let us know you'll be there by emailing us at bmagirls.rideleader@gmail.com.
  • Hope to see you on Thursday!

Post in the comment section or email bmagirls.rideleader@gmail.com with any questions.

    1. I plan to come and stay through dinner. Any reason we couldn't carpool from 29th street? That would save time getting to dinner. Regardless, I can accommodate two other ladies and their bikes on my Subie.

    2. I'll be there, and I'm happy to meet at 29th street. I can take one other girl or hop in with someone else.

    3. I guess we could do two carpool spots for those that are coming from the north part of town to meet at Sol Azteca, others at 29th? Sol Azteca is closest for me if anyone else wants to meet there.

    5. I think Suze is meeting me at 29th Street and it sounds like that's good for Mere too. We can all either get into one car or we can take a few other ladies who show up there. Post a comment if we should look for you. We will park out in the area in front of Mad Greens, not too close to the buildings since we will be gone awhile. Look for cars with Bikes on top.

    7. I will meet at the trailhead unless there is another downtown-ish, non-dinner person coming along who would like to carpool.

    10. Mere and Suze (and anyone else wanting to meet at 29th St to carpool). Let's get there around 5:10ish. Look for my ruby Suby with a bike on top in the parking area near Mad Greens.

    11. Where exactly are you meeting at 29th street? Both is fine for me, but would like to carpool if possible and stay for dinner. I bought clip ins and did not have much time to practice... slightly worried about tonight :-) Romy

    12. Romey - we will meet at 5:10 in the parking lot near Mad Greens. We shouldn't park right up close to the restaurants, since we will be leaving cars for awhile. You will see my ruby Suby with a bike on top.

You will do great with the clip ins and will love the extra power you get uphill from them!
